TOLEDO, Ohio, October 16, 2009 - The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority, along with the 180th Air National Guard has scheduled an Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Course to be held October 12 – 16, 2009. Photo opportunities are available until 2 p.m. today.
The AARF course, taught by Kellogg Community College, provides hands-on training and has been approved by the FAA to meet annual training requirements for many airports.
The simulator in the course provides a variety of realistic aircraft fire scenarios including flammable liquid spills, engine fires, interior cabin and wheel brake fires.
